Project Summary:
RiverLights is a 1400-acre residential subdivision that with up to 2,290 single family residential units and 1 million square feet of commercial development. This master planned community includes a 50-acre manmade lake, the realignment of 3 miles of River Road, 5 phases of age-qualified 55 and over single-family units, 10 phases of conventional single-family units and 30 acres of commercial mixed-use development.
Project Role
Nick was the Senior Project Manager and primary client contact for site Civil Engineering and managed a design team of 5 civil engineers during his time at McKim and Creed in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Regulatory and Permitting:
The RiverLights project was permitted as master planned community with a development agreement between Newland Communities and the City of Wilmington. The project was permitted through the City of Wilmington Planning, Engineering, and Traffic Departments and received stormwater permits from the City of Wilmington Engineering Department. Sediment and Erosion Control permits were obtained from New Hanover County Engineering Department.
